Isn’t it a wondrous notion . . . the way almost anything can mean many things? Take the sunset for example... A great ball of gas set alight dips below the horizon and gives way to colder illuminations can also signify an end like the final page turned in a book or a grain of sand tugged into the ocean by a wave or the whisper of a loved one to another before a kiss silences their words An artist might see it as inspiration and take note of the arrangement of colors produced to create a creative piece— one moment caught in time that references other such moments A sunset… when it comes time to

I have heard of the writing process as a return to childlike wonder …when we gazed around as if for the first time at a world unfamiliar in many aspects yet marvelous to behold— because it was ours Still… I wonder if (perhaps) writing could also be like a lens through which we learn to notice things that both in childhood and as adults might otherwise pass us by without careful attention or study …such as the subtle differences in the way birds flap their wings or glide …speech patterns or accents that change from one location to the next …the many varieties of sunsets

I am caught between stations watching the train of what has been disappear into a dark tunnel from past days while its smoke dissipates Left on the platform I blink several times at the surrounding countryside the tall mountains vast fields and wring my fingers that still ache slightly from years spent typing what others had to say in audio recordings
